The aim
Design a dashboard that helps decision-makers respond to a pandemic. It has to show where cases are rising, how regions compare and whether targets are being met, without overwhelming anyone.
What we built
- A ring chart for case breakdowns and a bubble map for geographic spread.
- A scatter plot to compare regions on two measures at once.
- Gauges for progress against targets.
- Slicers, so any view can be filtered by region and date.
Design choices
Each chart was chosen for the question it answers, not for variety. The layout follows Gestalt and PARC principles (proximity, alignment, repetition and contrast) so related figures read as a group. All colours come from ColorBrewer palettes that stay distinct for people with the common forms of colour blindness.
